Introduction: A Game-Changing Strategy

I've been planning to write this article for a long time. Initially, I wanted to focus solely on Kaito strategies and earning yaps, but that ground has been thoroughly covered by others. Instead, I've developed something much more comprehensive.

After extensive testing and research, I've discovered strategies that should intrigue everyone—whether you're part of the Inner Circle, an Emerging CT creator, or just starting your content journey. What you'll learn here could be a genuine game-changer for your growth!

Social Proof First

Before sharing my insights, let me show you that these strategies work. Looking at my Kaito data, I've gained several hundred new followers and doubled my smart followers count. All this through hard work and the strategies I'll outline in this article.

What You'll Learn

This comprehensive guide covers:

  • Kaito (yaps & leaderboards)
  • Yap earning strategies
  • Selling yap votes
  • Using Kaito for growth hacking
  • The most extensive database of X lists for content creators
  • Creating your own lists without Kaito's help

In the upcoming second article, I'll share numerous growth hacking strategies that everyone can benefit from!

1. Understanding Kaito (Yaps & Leaderboards)

What is @KaitoAI, really?

I'd describe it as an attention management platform—essentially a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) manager. The platform has gathered most major KOLs and thousands of content creators and regular Web3 users. While it appears to be a place for creators to compete in project leaderboards, it's actually much more complex.

Kaito serves as an excellent resource for finding influential KOLs and niche communities.

@Lamboland_ brilliantly explained why Kaito functions effectively as a KOL Marketing Agency

@francescoweb3 discusses COLs (Community Opinion Leaders)—the grassroots aspect. Kaito creates opportunities for community members and small content creators through project leaderboards. Through their content, they can qualify for project airdrops, while projects gain early supporters.

I divide Kaito into two main components:

  1. Collecting Yaps
  2. Participating in niches

Collecting Yaps

Yaps are easiest for major KOLs but smaller creators can earn them by engaging actively with smart followers. While the main $KAITO airdrop is over, collecting Yaps still allows voting on pre-TGE projects through Kaito Connect. You can even sell your Yap votes directly to projects or through intermediaries like @YapTradeDAO.

Many have already written about yaps extensively. Rather than rehashing what others have explained better, here are some valuable resources:

Participating in Niches

Engaging with specific project niches on Kaito is underrated yet powerful. Create content and reply to related posts. Generate reach, and build community connections. This approach not only qualifies you for airdrops (e.g., $ANIME, $BERA, $IP) but also serves as growth hacking.

Recently, @Polkadot announced a program rewarding the top 50 creators in their leaderboard—another way to earn by writing about niche projects.

2. Kaito for Growth Hacking

Beyond airdrops, Kaito is excellent for growth hacking:

  • Compete on project leaderboards to gain visibility.
  • Monitor your smart followers' growth.
  • Use it to build meaningful connections with influencers and niche communities.

For this, you need lists. You can create them yourself, or use the ones that I or others create.

3. The Main Strategy: Using Lists Effectively

Using Lists the Right Way

Many incorrectly use lists by pinning them to their feed. Lists should be utilized through the search function!

Each list has its number, which serves as the starting point:

  • Proper list search format: list:xxxxx...
  • Don't forget to select the "Latest" tab to see all tweets and replies from list members, starting with the most recent.

This creates considerable clutter, so it's best to exclude replies with: -filter:replies You can also specify tweet language, e.g.: lang:en When using large lists, adding keywords is helpful, e.g.: QUAI, Skate, Monad, Kaito...

Example search:

list:1881326343725478149 Kaito -filter:replies lang:en

X Pro works best for list management, allowing you to monitor several or even dozens of lists simultaneously.

How to Use X Lists Effectively

You know how to properly use lists, but that's not even half the battle. Now you need to roll up your sleeves and start writing replies. Some dedicated individuals write over 1,000 replies daily, but most are simple "Gm" greetings, which I don't recommend. Focus on valuable replies instead:

  • Share your opinion
  • Add something valuable
  • Ask a question to start a discussion

This is how you build genuine connections and relationships!

4. The Ultimate List Database

Complete List Repository

This is the heart of the article. Below you'll find a database of lists with ready-to-copy search queries. I've included filtering for English-language content, but you can remove this if other languages don't bother you (many creators write in Chinese).

5. Simple Strategy for Getting Started in Niches

1

Create a list of top creators in the niche (or use mine)

2

Start building connections in the niche

3

Begin writing about the project

There are many ways to identify people in a project's community: look at regular commenters on project posts, search using the search function, create a list of ambassadors, or use platforms like Kaito.

Pro Tip

If you plan to expand a list in the future, collect all account names in a spreadsheet. This eliminates duplicates and saves time.

Spreadsheet with lists of X accounts

Organization is key: Keep your lists in a spreadsheet

Regarding building connections, try to write valuable replies. Simple "Gm" won't get you far. Don't be afraid to follow people. You'll often get a follow back immediately or after some time. After focusing on just one list for a few days, you should have a dozen or more new followers from that niche. Now writing content about that project will be much easier because you already have followers who know the topic and will increase your reach.

But remember: You're playing the long game, so don't stop engaging in that niche!

You can do this with each new niche, expanding your follower base with valuable accounts.

It's so simple, yet people still prefer to write "Gm" hundreds of times daily and gain followers who do nothing but write "Gm".

Through consistent engagement in a niche, you'll gain not just regular followers but smart followers too!

Many people excel at this game and appear on multiple niche lists (sorry for the recent spam).

Among larger creators appearing on many lists, I've noticed: @stacy_muur, @wals_eth, @0xAbhiP, @alpha_pls, @ayyyeandy

They know how to do this right!

Besides growth hacking by engaging in niches, you can qualify for project airdrops. The best part is that not only posts count, but also replies to leaderboard posts to increase your market share.

6. Smart Followers

Of course, there's a simpler way to gain smart followers: Engagement under their posts.

Using Kaito, it's best to consider the CT Leaderboard and top Kaito Yappers. You can also use my Smart Followers lists.

These are quite large lists with many different strategies (which I'll discuss in the next article), but it's worth gradually creating smaller lists of smart followers and engaging with most posts there. This makes you more memorable to such individuals and facilitates establishing contact.

Final Thoughts

Now you have the tools and strategy—but your content quality remains key. Stay committed, keep improving, and focus on building genuine connections. Success comes from consistency, quality, and authentic engagement.
